Freerange.. London!!
I’m in the exhibition!!
As well as my work there will be a load of other peoples work from the year 1 and year 2 foundation course at Burton College. This is a hugh opportunity for us all, and i’m very honoured to have my work be good enough to exhibit at Freerange.
If anyone would like to visit the exhibition we will be there from 17th June (opening night) to the 21st June!
Look out for Burton College - Catalogue!!
For more information and a chance to have a sneek peak of peoples work visit the freerange website!

The downside to all this is i need money for printing. I think some money raising activities is to happen soon ie carboots. Going to be a very expensive month, but it’s going to be worth it just to have my work to be exhibited in London!!
: )
>These were spur of the moment shots. They weren’t planned, just something that was found in the studio.
Using Material! There was only two different colours so some of the images have been changed colour. I’ve tried to make them look as if they were the original colour of the material.
These remind me of my ribbon images so I’m glad they fit in with the theme that I’m trying to portray for my final project!!
I like them even though they aren’t in focus! Some are, Some aren’t! I think the ones which aren’t in focus work better than the ones that are in focus!
Website is up and running…! www.lesleysaltphotography.com
Finally sorted my domain name for my website..yey!!!

Very, very happy!!!!!
>Personal Project.
A Day at Knowsley Safari Park, we decided to go here instead of West Midlands Safari Park because we wanted to go somewhere we hadn’t been before. Very glad we did, it’s probably better than West Midlands!!
I struggled to capture any decent photos during the actual safari itself. I expected a 300mm lens would do the job, but I was easily mistaken. I couldn’t capture close up images of the animals unless they were pretty close.
Would defintely visit Knowsley again, it’s a fantastic safari!
The monkeys are worth going through even though quite alot of the cars looked damaged to me, luckilly ours wasn’t one of them! The monkeys make the day, it’s funny watching peoples reactions when the monkeys jump on the cars.
A great day out spent with the boyfriend.
How is the final project coming along???!
Carrying on experimenting and more important I’m taking photos. I’m looking around for inspiration and there’s still a few more objects that I know I want to try! Just need to find the time to photograph them inbetween eveything else.
It’s scary to think that the course is nearly over, and then it’s into the real world. Arrhh!
Theres one thing that the whole class has something to look forward to and that’s the Freerange exhibition in London. It’s taking place a month after the hand in date for the course, so it’ll be good for us all to have something to focus our attention on once the course is over!
For now I need to focus my attention on producing more work and completing the whole project to a high standard!

Fallen Petals.
Tried to experiment with fallen petals again but using a different flower.
More work for my final project!
More images for my final project.
Back to photographing feathers but in a different way to before. This time i tried to capture the feathers while falling. Very difficult to capture them in focus but these are a few I captured (I might have cheated with a few by holding them, but they still look like they are falling)
I was unsure whether to photograph feathers again because of how well my first set of feather images turned out, and also I knew that they needed to look different and I think they do. These images are all about the single feathers, whereas before they were as much about the feather as they were the reflection.
Very happy with a few of the images!
My Website
My website is nearly complete, i decided to use one of the online programs to produce my website.. i gave up trying to build it myself, very difficult, so i thought i would take the easy way out.
i’ve tried a few different website builder programs,
-moonfruit - good but difficult to create the website you really want. abit pricey compared to others if you compare the amount of images you can have in each price zone.
-viewbook - probably the most professional builder i found. saw a artical in photography monthly on how to produce a website in 60 minutes and this was the one that came out best. again it’s pricey if you want to choose the website option over the album or portfollio and these didn’t give you alot of option within them. so you would need to create the website and it’s more than i am willing to spend.
- wix- quite slow paced. this could just be my computer, but i haven’t had problems with the previous website builders above, so it must just be this program.. you need patience. each website builder is priced basic, standard and pro with a few others between these, and with the other two you would need the pro package… meaning that it would be the most expensive. but with wix you can get away with the standard package and you get everything you would if you decided to go with the pro package on the moonfruit and viewbook, so wix is the cheapest option. you can create the website you truely want and it’s quite easy to work with (once you get used to it, That is..)
There’s trials with each so you can pick the one you truely want without spending a penny. I went with Wix.com, just because of the price and the website i created in my trial. it’s simple to maneuver around the finished website and it’s as close to how i would have liked my website to look.
problems- i can’t seem to connect my domain name and it’s driving me crazy. need to get this sorted!!!

Smoke Photography by Graham Jeffery, www.sensitivelight.com
Going to give this a go!Lots of advice on his website!
I like very much!!
I <3 my new lens!!! Canon 100mm macro!! Expensive but worth every single penny!!
When I first decided I was going to buy a macro lens, I orginally wanted the same one as the college has a sigma 50mm.
Just because I didn’t really know much about macro lens and I had used this lens plenty of times and loved using it.
I decided to look into different prices and brands, and somehow landed on the Canon 60mm, but after reading a few reviews, plenty of people commented that they had wish they had brought one of the slightly more expensive macro lens with a longer focal length. That’s when I found the Canon 100mm Macro!! And I’m so glad I decided to spend that extra bit of money which hopefully will mean I won’t want to upgrade anytime soon like I probably would have done if I’d brought either a 50mm or 60mm.
I love my new lens, I’ve wanted a macro lens since I started photography, and to be honest I thought I would probably never get one, but I’m soo happy that I have!!Best Decision I’ve made in a while!. Just wish I could afford a new camera now!! That’ll be my next purchase!
